easy to love/easy to hate

Found the New Yorker profile on Will Oldham via Ward today. Merle Haggard features as a prominent influence on Oldham's life and music, which obviously makes me love Will Oldham even more. Recently I read the lyrics of "Fightin' Side of Me" aloud to a Briton, for reasons which should be obvious.

Will Oldham is the kind of man who would make you his girlfriend, cook you elaborate, folksy suppers every weekend, suggest the two of you open a low-yield mutual fund together to start an artists' colony on a ranch in the Rio Grande Valley and then not call you for six months because he had other things going on.

Easy to love/easy to hate.
